SimpleScalar Benchmarks
This page contains links to SimpleScalarTM pre-compiled benchmark programs that can be run on SimpleScalar simulators, distributed by SimpleScalar LLC and other SimpleScalar users.

SPEC2000 Alpha binaries Pre-compiled little-endian Alpha ISA SPEC2000 binaries, compiled and tested by Chris Weaver of University of Michigan.  NOTE: the inputs to these programs are not included, they may be purchased directly from SPEC at www.spec.org.
SPEC95 and SPEC2000 PISA binaries Pre-compiled little-endian PISA SPEC2000 binaries.  NOTE: only the C benchmarks are provided, and the inputs to these programs are not included, they may be purchased directly from SPEC at www.spec.org.  These binaries are maintained and distributed by the MIRV project, at University of Michigan.
Instructor benchmarks SPEC2000-derived benchmarks for computer architecture course instruction.  Binaries are included for the Alpha and PISA instruction sets, inputs and reference outputs are also included.  The experiments in this benchmark suite are designed to provide a wide variety of execution characteristics (e.g., hard-to-predict branches, high L1-cache miss rates, etc.) with short running experiments (100-250 million instructions).  The programs and datasets are distributed by Prof. Austin at University of Michigan.
SPEC2000 small inputs Simulation-friendly SPEC2000 datasets,  implemented by The ARCTiC Group at University of Minnesota.
MediaBench A multi-media oriented benchmark suite that builds cleanly on many SimpleScalar targets (e.g., PISA and Alpha).  Prof. Brian Davis from MichiganTech distributes pre-compiled MediaBench binaries.
Quake Alpha binaries Play Quake on SimpleScalar!  Pre-compiled Alpha binaries are distributed by Manoj Plakal of University of Wisconsin.
X Benchmarks X Windows versions of DOOM, POVRay ray tracer, XAnim MPeg player, and the XLock screensaver.  Pre-compiled binaries are available for the Alpha ISA.
